Art's Potential For Activism Today

Mighty Real/Queer Detroit curator patrick burton, Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art Executive Director Alyssa Nitchun, and biennial artists sit down with art and culture writer Osman Can Yerebakan to discuss how art can be a tool for solidarity and action during Pride month. Among the topics the panelists will touch upon are artists' role in decentralizing Pride as well as disseminating knowledge on queer histories and bringing different communities in the queer network together.

Panel artists include: Marcel Pardo Ariza (San Francisco), Tylonn Sawyer (Detroit), Erika Diamond (Ashville), Sanh Tran (Philadelphia), Anthony Peyton Young (Charleston), and Billy Miller (New York)

The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art is the only dedicated LGBTQIA+ art museum in the world with a mission to exhibit and preserve LGBTQIA+ art and foster the artists who create it.
