Journey back to New York City’s momentous drag scene of the 1980s and ‘90s with Linda Simpson’s acclaimed slideshow presentation “The Drag Explosion.” Set against the background of the AIDS crisis and gay activism, her vivid time capsule harkens back to when drag was still an underground art form, as she and her circle of friends joyfully and defiantly pushed the boundaries of gender expression.
Linda’s photos of her formative drag years have been featured in art exhibits, documentaries, magazine articles and books, including two of her own, PAGES (Peradam, 2013) and The Drag Explosion (Domain, 2021). She has presented her slideshow across America and in Canada and Europe.
