Artist Statement

Demario Dotson is a multidisciplinary artist who explores glitchy and queerness heroic narratives of blackness and worldbuilding via 3D animation, art, tech, gaming and music composition. Their practice provides a refreshing yet daring take on combating racism and culture through comic super-heroism and activism. The work is a reaction to the failure of Black recognition as equals and in humane contexts. With “Sandra Blands With Capes Protecting the Black Youth From The Police”,  He creates representations of Blackness with honest truth, relatability, vulnerability and power.
